I've just received this camera & am blown away by it!
Basic Features:
For the normal, family photographer this is an easy to use camera. It has all the basic features most people use day-to-day on a camera, so you can just point & shoot. For those looking to give even better results to their photos without needing to know anything technical, there are some easily accessed features for different "scenes" (where you pick according to what you are taking a photo of - eg babies, sport, flower, sunset, etc), or even simpler than that, you can pick the auto scene recognition & it figures it out for you.
There are extra clever bits that the camera does for you, including auto red eye reduction, camera shake reduction & face recognition - all aimed at helping the user to get the best picture possible.
Advanced Users:
I will admit to being an overly ambitious photographer - I like the idea of an SLR camera with all the fancy features, but can't afford the sky-high price tag they come with. Plus, if I'm honest, I have a lot to learn about ISOs, exposure, shutter speeds etc. That's one of the reasons I love this camera - you can choose manual settings to play round with & be a bit more arty. I may not be ready for it yet, but with a bit of playing I'll get there soon!!
Practical Points:
One thing to bear in mind if you are thinking about buying this camera - it does not come with a memory card. The internal memory holds 3 pictures, so you need a card. It takes the SDHC type & you can pick up a 4gb card cheaply - when I put mine in it said there was space for 1337 photos!
Also, the camera comes with a lithium battery so is rechargeable. This saves cost on the usual AAs, though if you are worried about being caught out with a low battery, I think you can pick up a spare.
I have the pink model & although the picture on this site is almost red, I would say it is more of a hot pink. It's a great colour with the metallic sheen & looks really sleek.
The screen is huge & bright so makes it really easy to see the photos you have taken. Plus the camera itself is quite slim and light so easy to carry around. |

| I bought this camera for my husband, yes he likes pink, because he wanted a camera that he could carry in his pocket. He has had fuji before and finds them reliable and robust. He has been using it a couple of months now and is very pleased with it. He is amazed at the quality of the pictures and the variety of functions this little camera is capable of. He did research the market before purchase and found this camera, in his opinion, the best for his needs, |
