| I read all the reviews for this product, and have never owned one,so i was apprehensive to select the best one for price..I didnt have a clue of what to do...When i got the cam,i foud it extremely, light and small, and after charging the battery, supplied, after 2 hours,I was up and running..After reading the set up instructions etc,I found the menu etc, easy to navigate..And with all the different settings,on easy mode..it did most of the settings....It was easy to put on pc,and the same for play back on the tv..In all i would reccommend this product to anybody, from begginer to somebody who has knowledge of these..Its agreat cam for the price and im having great fun with it....Well done to all the people who have given there reviews,it made the experience for me very helpfull.. |

This may seem odd that this is a 5 star review, however this is an EDIT of the original review, which I cannot adjust. When I first bought this I gave it a 5 star review as it ticked all of the boxes. 2 years on however and it has broken. The LCD display is now mostly yellow and Sony are unwilling to help. Apparently this is a common fault with the swivelling LCD and the fragile ribbon cable inside.
£300 for a product that lasts 2 years from a company that are unwilling to even 'examine' the 'mint condition' unit does not make for a superb customer experience. Perhaps obviously the replacement will not be a Sony, in fact I doubt anything I buy will be Sony from now on.
Hugely disappointed.

I had the original JVC everio MC100 which was tiny, but unfortunately it is coming to the end of its life and there were several things I wanted to improve on - storage, low light filming, etc.
Well after researching, the comments seem to all agree that in the price range this is superior to JVC and I am happy so far.
With a very small and lightwieght chassy, you still get a feeling that this is built well and is very sturdy.
The interface is touch face and easy enough to use. In addition, my favourite feature was unexpected. On the top there is a switch for lowlight filming. But the suprise in the menu was a nightlight. Turns out it has an invisible infrared lamp. So a quick test in a pitch black room and it works - amazing!
Of course there are weaknesses. The quality is good, but not HD by any stretch and with supplied battery, you are not filming any epics, but easily fixable. And because Sony, no SD cards, justg Memory stick.
But all in all, with Amazon's great price, this is a winner.
And a final word - I ordered at 5pm and had the item from Amazon 11am the next day. |
